Ottavio Bottecchia was the first Italian winner of the Tour de France in 1924, and the first cyclist to carry the yellow jersey through all seven stages. He remains one of cycling's legends, and nearly a century later the Bottecchia brand is still synonymous with Italian performance and style. Along the way, they've helped change the cycling industry, from popularising the folding bike (their Graziella famously ridden by Bridget Bardot and Salvador Dali) through to their bike being ridden to victory by the only American to legitimately win the Tour de France, Greg Lemond. In 2017, they have laid down a challenge to the electric bike industry, with the Newton and Krytpon laying claim to being among the top performing and most beautiful electric bikes in their class. All Bottecchia bikes are hand-built at the Bottecchia factory at Carvarzere, near Venice in Northern Italy. Electric Bikes Palmerston North is delighted to be an authorised agent for Bottecchia in New Zealand.
